Our Last Tango is a story of love between the two most famous dancers in tango's history. And the story of their tremendous love of tango. María Nieves Rego (81) and Juan Carlos Copes (84) met when they were 14 and 17, and they danced together for nearly fifty years. In all those years they loved and hated each other and went through several painful separations, but always got back together. Now, Juan and María are willing to open up about their love, their hatred, and their passion. In Our Last Tango Juan and María tell their story to a group of young tango dancers and choreographers from Buenos Aires, who transform the most beautiful, moving and dramatic moments of Juan and Maria's lives into incredible tango-choreographies. These beautifully-shot choreographies compliment the soul-searching interviews and documentary moments of the film to make this an unforgettable journey into the heart of the tango.
Once upon a time, there was God. And that's the end of the story. Goodbye, Our Father. Farewell forever, heavenly beings. If we don't see you, we don't believe in you. We've chosen to live as if you didn't exist. However... millions of people keep speaking with Jesus Christ, whom they call "Brother." And with the Virgin Mary, whom they call "Mother." They believe we are all God's children and thus call him "Father." The Devil's Advocate receives a new mission: to fearlessly investigate those who still trust Heaven's formulas. Are they swindlers? Swindled? If he discovers that their beliefs are bogus, our lives will remain the same. But... what if they're not a fairy tale.
Beautiful story of a kid who dreams of learning piano. Coming from a poor family he finds a piano teacher with a secret. The story unfolds somewhere in Havana, Cuba.
The Promises of Love It's not like before. The time for promises or child play is over. This film is about adulthood, the tragedy of feeling we're getting older alone an distanced from love and caresses. But it's also a story about happy pasts and unexpected and doubtful futures. And it all plays out in the middle of a scene where the ex-lovers lay their cards on the table hoping to uncover secrets and display truths. Who hasn't made promises out of love? Who hasn't tasted the infinite flavor of avowed loyalty and kept it as a weapon in defense of utopia and memories? How many of us do not safeguard tenderness with the perpetuity of an oath? Esteban and Mayra, by the time we meet them, are two human beings who once loved each other; who shared not only their bodily fluids, but also their hopes amidst social processes that led them to believe in impossibilities and to dream; dream of chimeras and imagine untruths. And that's the story. In a Cuba that is reluctant to lose its memories.
