Bharat' is a journey of a man and a nation together. At the cusp of India's birth as an Independent nation, a family makes an arduous journey to freedom. However, this freedom comes at a cost. An 8 year old boy, Bharat, makes a promise to his father that he will keep his family together no matter what a promise that he keeps over the next 60 years of his life, despite each decade throwing a new set of challenges at him some humorous, some thrilling, some romantic while some life-threatening. His resilience, loyalty and a never dying spirit mirrors the fundamental qualities of our nation Bharat.
The film will take us back 400 years to the time when the concept of Miri-Piri first came into being along with the construction of the first Sikh fort in Amritsar, first war fought and won in Sikhism and many other proud accomplishments in the Sikh world.
In 1606, after Shri Guru Arjun Dev ji's sacrifice, Guru Hargobind ji adorned the two swords of Miri-Piri and started the crusades against the tyranny of Mughals. This was the time when Saint Soldiers pledged their lives for the protection of the Sikh community.
Two friends both struggling with their careers dress up as police officers for a costume party. They soon realize that civilians and even cops think they are the real deal. Seeing this as an opportunity for female attention and perks, the duo begin a spree of crazy adventures. The duo's fun come to a grinding halt, once confronted by dangerous mobsters. They are forced to rely on themselves against deadly criminal and corrupt cops.
Zoya, a young rich girl falls for a middle class boy who happens to be her arrogant father's personal assistant's son. Meanwhile Mehboob, a middle class clerk in the struggle of making both ends meet, gets caught in the confusion as the love interest of Zoya. Zoya's status conscious father, pressurizes Mehboob to leave Zoya offering him a handsome sum of money, which Mehboob is in dire need of. Reluctantly, Mehboob accepts the offer. Knowing that Zoya's businessman father would never accept a lesser status son-in-law, the lovebirds elope.
